ALCHEMICAL ACUPUNCTURE. HERBALISM. THE ELEMENTS.

I weave Acupuncture, Energy Healing, Herbal Medicine, Qi Gong, Ancient and Modern Wisdom and Elemental awareness to harmonise your ‘whole being’. Small steps create profound change in all levels of wellbeing.

I start with deep listening and holding safe space for your story that guides your healing and transformation journey. I believe everyone deserves to thrive.

By combining the Ancient Chinese Medicine wisdom of Energy Alchemy with a Quantum perspective, we begin to understand wellbeing is cultivated through a deep inner connection and connection with natural rhythms and cycles. Once we become aware of how we create our own reality, dis-ease can shift into ease and deep healing can take place on all levels of physiology, psychology and energy. Our innate healing capacity unfolds through clearing energetic blockages and stagnation to restore the qi flow through our whole ecosystem.

This holistic journey opens many doors through which we travel together to regenerate the relationship between body, mind, heart and spirit. Many physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social aspects of our way of life will be reviewed, restored and reunited.

Wellbeing is a holistic journey…

Having helped many people through different life stages and phases, I understand life’s challenges and appreciate the courage and motivation it takes to be WELL. My hearts passion revolves around supporting the community to heal and grow through healing families and children of all ages.

We all deserve to thrive and when we are feeling good, our whole world changes. Chinese Medicine provides a ‘whole system’ approach to wellbeing and is particularly aimed at prevention and maintenance.

ALCHEMICAL ACUPUNCTURE allows the body, mind and spirit to harmonise and regulate through rebalancing the energetics of our biological functions, mental emotional and spiritual states, meridian blockages and organ dysfunction in relationship to natural rhythms and cycles. This Alchemical system restores vital energetic flow to allow the body’s innate intelligence to regenerate and rebalance essential pathways including the autonomic nervous system, respiratory system, circulatory system, neurological system, musculoskeletal system, lymphatic system, cardiovascular system, reproductive system, digestive system, immune system and endocrine system.

Other modalities provided include:

Acupuncture and it’s effects…

Acupuncture has been associated with various physiological and psychological effects. Research has shown that acupuncture can modulate the body's biochemistry by influencing the release of neurotransmitters, hormones, and other biochemical substances. The increase in enkephalins and endorphins during and after acupuncture treatment is believed to contribute to its analgesic effects and the feelings of relaxation and euphoria reported by many patients.

Moreover, the relaxation and meditative states induced by acupuncture can facilitate the body's natural healing processes. By allowing the body to enter a state of deep relaxation, acupuncture helps to reduce stress, which in turn supports immune function and overall well-being. This holistic approach to healing not only addresses physical ailments but also promotes emotional balance and psychological well-being.

Acupuncture's focus on prevention and maintenance aligns with the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, which emphasises the importance of maintaining balance and harmony within the body, mind, heart and spirit. By incorporating acupuncture into our regular healthcare routine, our overall health and vitality is supported, thereby enhancing quality of life.

Alchemical Acupuncture approach…

‘When we approach physical and emotional distress not only as a symptom of a loss of integrity but also as a kind of chaos that can be used to create a new kind of wholeness, then we open to the possibility of a more long-lasting and alchemical kind of healing.’ - Lorie Eve Dechar, Five Spirits

Alchemical Acupuncture goes beyond the realm of short term restorative approaches, to the root cause that is addressed and healed through psychological and psycho-spiritual healing. This requires both the practitioner and patient to work together to ‘build a bridge’ between the body and mind where the vital energies of the body and the psychological energies of the soul unify. This return to a place of wholeness requires a deep surrender and willingness that opens the heart field and allows the qi to be transformed according to the ‘spirit of the points’.

If the body trusts and deeply softens to receive the alchemical healing, its innate intelligence senses the qi movement and allows the process of transformation to occur. In Chinese Medicine, focusing on the present moment rather than the ‘story’ or ‘past experience’ helps to establish the new foundation for new possibilities to emerge and flourish in relationship to the Tao (natural rhythm). We always trust that the potential of the healing will emerge according to the consciousness that flows to us and through us in that moment.

The nature of our modern fast paced lives provides minimal support for the natural healing and evolution required for our body and psyche. This return to essence of who we are through alchemical acupuncture and healing opens doors to deeper layers in the nervous system, the imagination and consciousness of the body. The qi of the body self organises and the biochemistry produces effects of deep relaxation, inner connection, presence and peace.

Often the acupuncture needles produce a ‘lightning bolt’ effect that initiates the process of change and self-organisation. As we acknowledge the distress, the pain or other symptoms in the present moment without attachment, the release can unfold with greater ease and something new can arrive to lift the integrity of the whole ecosystem.

‘In order for change to occur, a connection must be made between the two poles or, in Taoist terms, there must be a marriage of the upper and lower spirits’ - Lorie Eve Dechar, Five Spirits

5 Element Constitutional Diagnosis provides a foundation for understanding energy imbalances and how harmony can be restored through addressing the root cause of symptoms, medical conditions, unhealthy behavourial patterns, pain and stagnation.

Constitutional ways of being are like imprints that can move between rigid and fluid states. They provide an interconnected map that guides our wellbeing and behaviour on all levels of body, mind and spirit. This ‘living system’ of correspondences helps us connect to our true nature and flow with nature’s cycles and rhythms to heal and regenerate our wellbeing naturally. The body can heal itself when we understand our constitutional tendencies and the regenerative nature of the elemental wheel.

Understanding ourselves through natural flow, elemental correspondences and fluid states of balance helps us to nurture ourselves, our families and communities.

Herbal Medicine…

Herbal Medicine is an integral part of Chinese Medicine and plays a vital role as ‘internal medicine’. The energetics of herbs is layered in ancient wisdom as they naturally harmonise biological systems and organ dysfunction through their corresponding resonance and associations with the elemental diagnosis and pathways of healing.

Depending on the presenting symptoms, conditions and diagnosis, herbal formulas are combined to restore balance through clearing stagnation, damp or excess heat, and support general deficiency, fluids, blood and organ function.

The herbal medicine we prescribe is generally in powder form to consume more readily. We also supply a range of teas and essences that gently support the body, mind, heart and spirit.

Herbal medicines in combination with the energetics of acupuncture provide a deeply holistic healing path. Bookings can also be made specifically for herbal medicine consultations where we discuss your symptoms and condition, ascertain a diagnosis and determine the necessary herbal combination to support your healing process.

Tracing its roots back to 17th century Osaka in Japan (and ultimately to ancient China), Shonishin techniques were developed specifically for infants and children up to the age of seven. Practitioners insist Shonishin offers a viable alternative to pharmaceuticals in the treatment of childhood health problems–everything from behavioral and emotional to many physical conditions. It has been used with some success in treating infants and children afflicted with a wide variety of conditions, including colic, indigestion, GERD, constipation, and diarrhea. It has even shown some success in the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), allergies, asthma, eczema, hives, bedwetting, and stuttering. Children as young as one month old have been effectively treated.

Typically no needles are used in Shonishin and nothing actually penetrates the skin. To understand how Shonishin works, we must first realise that a child’s bio-energetic systems are in the “yang” phase and not fully developed, which means their energy (qi) moves very quickly. Due to their rapidly growing bodies, infants consume large amounts of qi. This often depletes the organs most responsible for producing qi, which can result in hyperstimulation and offers a fertile ground for health problems.

Shoshinin’s gentle, mostly non-invasive treatment techniques involve non-inserted metal tools – the enshin, the teishin and the zanshin. Experienced practitioners rhythmically stroke, rub, tap and press the skin to produce a variety of gentle stimulation sensations. Sometimes a press sphere–a tiny round ball–is taped in place and left for a few hours to stimulate an acupuncture point. These techniques serve to harmonise and boost a child’s vital energy. There are many variables to consider in the application of Shonishin treatment. The frequency, dosage and strength of therapy, for example, will depend on the individual practitioner, as well as the age, health or illness of the child. Keep in mind that a child’s treatments will usually be short in duration, with older children usually requiring longer treatments.

Shonishin is administered quickly, usually within 15-20 minutes, and is typically performed with the child clothed or just wearing a diaper. The technique is most effective when given several times per week until the symptoms are alleviated. Once the primary health concern is addressed, treatments may continue on a limited protracted basis to prevent recurrence. While initial treatments are administered only by skilled acupuncturists, many procedures can be performed by the child’s parents at home (a silver teaspoon makes an ideal home-based Shonishin tool). The techniques are quickly and easily learned, allowing parents to perform daily treatments between visits.

Regardless of treatment type or length, practitioners frequently develop a kind and gentle rapport with the child. In fact, regular Shonishin treatments help strengthen the parent-child relationship and can improve the spiritual and emotional development of the child. Regular daily preventative massage done by the parents may increase circulation of qi and blood, and may strengthen the child’s immune system. The soothing, relaxing massage can also improve sleeping and eating habits. In some cases, Shonishin can even help children to be more sociable.

Kids and Teens…

Our modern world places a lot of pressure on our kids resulting in in a variety of physical, mental and emotional health issues such as personal and social anxiety, depression, mood and behavioural disorders, menstrual cycle regulation, skin conditions, digestive and immune problems, respiratory conditions and headaches.

One of my passions is working with young people to help them find better balance in their whole being so they can manage and reset their emotions, thoughts and habits in healthy ways. With acupuncture, herbal medicine, energy healing and gentle guidance, we harmonise and optimise the connection between body, mind and spirit to stabilise our energy and biology.

I use a combination of acupuncture techniques that use traditional acupuncture needles and non-invasive paediatric Shonishin that regulates the body’s energetic systems, organs and meridians. Shonishin literally translates as sho “little”, ni “children”, and shin “needle”. Herbal medicine then supports the body as needed. The foundations for treatment begin in elemental wisdom that guides the holistic process.

Families…

The whole family benefits from preventative approaches like acupuncture and energy medicine. Life is always shifting and we are always changing so managing our wellbeing to adapt to any circumstances and life phases keeps us grounded and well. Whatever wellbeing challenges arise, we can work together to support your whole family ecosystem so life can be enjoyable and energising for all.

Communities…

I’m in awe of those in diverse communities that tend to our planet in so many ways. I’m a big believer in regenerative ways of being in the world and love helping those who are carving a purposeful path in life through honouring regenerative ways of being. Optimising health to sustain that capacity for passionate impact helps everyone be their best and show up each day in heart centred, kind and compassionate ways. Filling our own cup is essential!
